Why we recommend these handguns

Striker fired triggers: All of these handguns are striker fired. This is a very safe trigger system because of the multiple positive blocks prohibiting the firing pin from striking the primer unless you press the trigger. The triggers range between 5.5lbs - 7.5lbs and the trigger press is the same every time. There is no need for external safeties, some of these models offer them as an option.

Caliber: We prefer 9mm for three reasons. First, 9mm is about 60% of the cost of a .45ACP or .380 auto round. This means more practice for your money and remember that skill trumps caliber. Secondly, you’ll have higher magazine capacity and no one ever said I wish I had fewer rounds in a gunfight. Lastly, with advances in ballistics and bullet design, 9mm defensive rounds are very close in comparison with the .45ACP. When comparing handgun ammunition you are splitting hairs, especially when compared to high powered rifle ammunition. It is better time spent training than arguing this minor point.

Reliability: Although no gun is 100% reliable, these are pretty darn close. Our instructional staff has personally put thousands of rounds through each of these weapons and they all perform exceptionally well.

Functionality: The ability to manipulate the controls of the weapon without great difficulty or stress. All of these function very well.

Affordability: $550-$650

Accessories: Holsters, magazine holders, extra magazines and parts are fairly easy to find.
